Listen to Shannon’s Dance Party Spinning Mix on Spotify and get cycling!
Last night’s kick-off Tri Team spin class set the tone for what to expect this training season. In true Tuck fashion, we had a dance party on the bike last night and an awesome ride with Shannon’s kick-ass playlist. Check it out for yourself and let us know what songs get you through the hill-climbs! Enjoy!
Jump right in!
Yesterday marked the official start to the Tuck Triathlon team’s training program, and what better way to kick off the season than with the SWIM. As Kelly mentioned in her post from last week, building up your endurance is key to gaining momentum in the water. In addition to following a workout that you can build on each week, it is important to also build up your mental strength before diving in. Since the last time I swam competitively was in middle school, I thought it might be helpful to share my insights on “How to survive your first swim of the season” (or first swim in years). Follow these quick tips to get yourself mentally ready to jump right in:

What tips do you find helpful in your personal swim workouts?
At ethos, we are all about music and training for triathlons with friends. That is why my favorite workout gadget is the Jammypack, which allows team ethos to rock out together while we are swimming, biking, running, or just having a late night dance party. The Jammypack is great for long runs and rides because it is comfortable to wear and large enough to carry items that I may need like snacks and sunglasses. Best of all, the Jammypack comes in tons of awesome colors and funky patterns that will style up any outfit! My only advice, if you decide to take your jammy skiing with you, think about turning down the volume in the lift line because some people may not appreciate Rihanna’s We Found Love ft Calvin Harris quite as much we do.
The lineup for Coachella 2012 has been announced and it’s inspired me to do two things:
(1) Put it on our calendars and try to get a crew together to go
(2) Put some of our favorite bands that will be there on repeat and start digging into those we don’t know yet
Look for a Coachella-inspired January Running Mix coming soon, but in the meantime, do some of your own exploration and let us know your new favorites!
